The Eagles have lost their first two games in five years, and their current five-game winning streak is their worst in the past five years.
The Eagles lost at Atlanta last Thursday, a game in which they were leading by 11 at the time.
They lost at Philadelphia last Sunday, a 27-21 loss.
The only other game the Eagles lost this season was at Miami, when they were down 24-7 with 3:16 remaining.
It’s the longest losing streak in the league, with the Cowboys losing to the Eagles at Cowboys Stadium on Dec. 2, 2009.
The Cowboys, in the same spot in the standings as the Eagles, are still tied with the 49ers for the worst record in the NFL at 3-13.
They’re also the last undefeated team left in the division.
How do the Eagles feel about this loss?
They’ve lost their last three games by double digits, with all of those defeats coming by 20 points or more.
The most recent loss to Atlanta came on a Sunday in which the Eagles had the ball at the 10:25 mark of the fourth quarter.
The Falcons had two plays at the Atlanta 5 with 1:58 remaining, one of which ended up being a touchdown and the other an interception.
The two plays resulted in a turnover and a punt that the Eagles recovered.
On the other side of the ball, the Eagles’ first-and-goal from the 5 was deflected by safety DeAndre Levy, who returned it 56 yards for a touchdown with 8:31 left in regulation.
What were the Eagles thinking with this game on the line?
The Eagles had their first lead of the game on a punt return by Jordan Matthews on third down in the second quarter.
That was followed by a touchdown by Jordan Huff.
They trailed by 13 at the half and a touchdown from Huff on a 6-yard run.
Eagles cornerback Brandon Boykin had a sack and a hit on rookie linebacker Sean Mannion in the first quarter.
Matthews had a two-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.
Why did the Eagles need to score?
They had a chance to tie the game at the 4, but they didn’t do it.
Instead, they scored a touchdown on their first play of the second half.
The second touchdown came on third-and.
Matthew was able to get a good angle and pick up a first down before Huff hit him with a sack.
Can they turn things around?
The Cowboys are 3-0 and the Eagles have dropped four straight games.
It might take a few more losses before they can turn things in.
